Biography

Namitha (born May 10, 1981) is an Indian actress who works primarily in Tamil and Telugu cinema, alongside appearances in Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films. She entered the entertainment industry after competing in pageantry, finishing as the third runner-up at Femina Miss India 2001. She made her acting debut in Telugu cinema in 2002 with Sontham and Gemeni. Her subsequent Telugu appearances included Oka Raju Oka Rani (2003) and Oka Radha Iddaru Krishnula Pelli (2003). In 2004, she made her Tamil film debut in Engal Anna, followed by Aai (2004) and Maha Nadigan (2004). Over the subsequent years, she appeared in Tamil productions including Englishkaran (2005), Aanai (2005), Bambara Kannaley (2005), Kovai Brothers (2006), Naan Avan Illai (2007), Azhagiya Tamil Magan (2007), and Billa (2007). She also appeared in the Telugu remake of Billa (2009) and Simha (2010). Her credits across other languages include the Hindi film Love Ke Chakkar Mein (2006), the Kannada releases Neelakanta (2006) and Namitha I Love You (2011), and the Malayalam films Black Stallion (2010) and Pulimurugan (2016). Her later releases include Ilamai Oonjal (2016), Pottu (2019), and Miya (2020).
